Active East Herts will be delivering a new project in 2020 after a £9,995 grant was awarded to fund gentle exercise for older residents of Bishop's Stortford's Havers estate.
Active East Herts was a partner in the successful bid that also featured Bishops Stortford Community Centres Trust, East Herts Council, Clarion Housing, Bishops Stortford Age Concern and Havers Community Church.
The project will aim to address isolation and loneliness among older residents, using activity to bring people together.
New sessions will start in the estate from early January and will feature Zumba Chair at St Michaels Community Centre, Seated Cricket at Havers Community Centre, Movement for Health at Valley Court Residential Home and Seated Cricket at the New Apton Centre.
Confirmed Sessions:
• Seated Zumba at St Michaels Mead Community Centre on Thursdays 11:45am - Launching Thursday 9th January
• Exercise to Music at Havers Community Centre on Tuesdays 2:00pm - Launching Tuesday 28th January
New sessions will be launched on our social media alongside our website.
