Background – Hertford Cycle Hub
Active East Herts are working together with East Herts Council to create ‘Hertford Cycle Hub‘. The process started with the installation of cycle parking outside Hartham Leisure Centre, the transformation can be seen below. As of May half term 2019, Hertford Cycle Hub will be based at the pavilion on Hartham Common, with an expert cycling technician on hand to help, give advice and provide information on Cycling opportunities. The idea of Hertford Cycle Hub is to create a one stop shop for all things Cycling in East Hertfordshire. The hub is designed to host community focused cycle projects, including Breeze rides, learn to cycle, maintenance courses and more. If you are interested in hearing about upcoming projects, subscribe to the website by filing out the form at the bottom of this page – you’ll receive a monthly email with any new cycling updates.

Active East Herts hosted a Community Cycling Festival in June 2018 linking to The Year of Physical Activity. With a range of activities for the community to get involved with, including Rollerpaluz, BMX show, smoothie bike machine, Bike repair station and more.

From the back of the Cycling Festival a monthly Breeze ride has been established.
These monthly rides are easy going of no more than 6 miles for ladies who are new to cycling or wanting to get back into cycling. These rides will go at the pace of the slowest rider and will go along the canal through Ware. It includes a short cafe stop along the way for a drink and a natter. The ride leader will check everyone’s bike before the ride so do not worry if you are unsure.
Check out the ‘Breeze ride‘ tab for further information and upcoming dates.
