Frequently Asked Questions
Most frequent questions and answers
Where are the events?
These events will take place across three locations in East Hertfordshire, Hartham Leisure Centre Hertford, Grange Paddocks Leisure Centre Bishops Stortford and Westmill Farm Ware.
What do I need to bring?
Pre-race information will be sent when you sign up to an event with an event-specific list but general items are:
Water bottle
Trainers/running shoes
Comfortable running top and shorts/bottoms
Towel, swimming costume, swimming hat and goggles for events including a swim
Bicycle and helmet for events including a cycling element
What if it's my first ever event?
Don’t worry you will be in good company! A large proportion of our participants last year across the age groups were taking past in their first ever race. The race distances are set to be achievable for all, regardless of experience.
We will have marshalls on site to make sure the route and rules are clear and will be organising training sessions before our events.
What is a transition area?
The transition area is where you transfer from one section of the race to the next. This could be from the pool to the run for an Aquathlon or from the cycle element to the run route in a Triathlon.
You will need to leave any items you need for the next section in the transition. For example when transferring from the pool to the run, you would leave a towel, running shoes and any additional running clothes (top or bottoms) you will need for the run.
What age group do I fit in?
Your age group will be determined by what age you will be when on the date of the event. Age groups are:
8-10 year old’s = Children
11-13 year old’s = Juniors
14+ = Adults
Do I get anything for completing the race?
Every participant, regardless of your finishing position or finishing time will receive a medal upon completion of the race. The race director will also have information on other events coming up or more regular swim, run or tri clubs.
